Parse error on IPB 2.3 converter

When I run the IPB 2.3 to SMF 1.1.6 converter, I get the following error message and can go no further:

Code Select Expand

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ';', expecting ')' in /path_to_smf/convert.php on line 2656

Any help or suggestions welcome

Thanks, I had originally downloaded the converter from the downloads section on the site - the ones on the forum seem to work better.

However when running the converter it stops when reaching personal messages:

Converting personal messages (step 1)... Unsuccessful!
This query:

Caused the error:

Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet' bytes

I've read a solution to this in the forums, but I'd rather not import personal messages at all. The tick boxes on the front of the converter don't seem to work - is it possible to manually remove some code to eliminate these?

the check boxes doesn't work at this time (but planned for the future)
if you want to skip the conversion of the pms you need to edit the invision23_to_smf.sql and remove the blocks for the pm-conversion. i would try to reduce the simultaneous converted pms by changing:
