Hi I'm at the end of my rope. I contacted my server and they say it's a software issue.

Everytime I try to apply a mod I get the following error:

You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable

I've made the directory writable, I've made sure the parent directory is writable. My server techs double checked it also, yet I still get the error and can't apply any mods.

Help. >:(

Please do not double post your topics in the forum. It will not speed things up. It will actually give us more work by deleting your duplicates.

We have a huge topic on package manager issues. Did you read it yet?

This is usually caused by a host restriction in place or some permissions not set properly. Did you try creating a folder called temp inside your Packages directory and CHMOD that temp folder to 777? If you searched here, you should have found that piece of information already and a bunch of other possible solutions to this problem.
