I was wondering if there's a way to post a forum (news) on the front page of joomla just like Tiny Portal does when you add a thread in the News (or whatever you have set) forum?  I would use TP for this but I don't like it as much as I do Joomla.

you could build a joomla module calling ssi_boardnews...
