Problem installing packages in 2.0 RC1

hi
a few weeks back i upgraded my 1.1.4 forum to 2.0 after which i could no longer install themes or mods. i thought this was down to a problem in the settings so i looked and looked and tohught it was something to do with how smf had picked up the directory as it had picked it up as

\\boswinfs01\home\users\web\b2160\ez.cyber\Forum

when using the repair settings.php file and if you looked inside the settings file had it down as

$boarddir = '\\\\boswinfs01\\home\\users\\web\\b2160\\ez.cyber\\Forum';

i tried taking out the extra slashes etc but then the forum didnt work so i thought maybe it was a problem with the upgrade. so now i have just installed another fresh forum in the directory Forumtest and the exact same problem occurs

ive even tried copying the directory path that the hosting company easycgi gave me for the root and pasting it in even though its identical but that still didnt work

\\boswinfs01\home\users\web\b2160\ez.cyber

see it will let me upload the packages but not install them. is this a problem with smf rc1 or a problem with me or my host

Can you try this version of the repair_settings.php designed for 2.0 and see if you can reset your path to the correct ones.

didnt fix it just changed what path it gave in the errors

im wondering if its a problem with the host as it all works fine on the linux host i use (hostgator) where as this site is on a windows hosting package (easy-cgi)

It appears you need to contact your host as the installer is not capable of finding the files it needs to modify.  That's why you are getting the file not found error.

ok i will do that - any idea what the problem might be on there end so that i might suggest it to them

I would ask for an explanation of their directory structure as it is obviously something that is not the norm.

ok after talking to the hosting company we have got it sorted - thankyou for your suggestion
