Hi,
is it possible to convert my forum from SMF 2.x back to SMF 1.x ?

If you have recent backup copies of your db and files (prior to upgrading to 2.0) then it is possible.

There is no 'official' way to do downgrade from SMF 2 Beta to SMF 1.1.x, although you can do it by converting your forum to phpbb3 then back to SMF 1.1.6. ;)

The post/topic below discusses that conversion:

Please don't send me ANY support related PMs. I will just delete them.

Can't you just delete the existing tables and files, reinstall SMF 1.1.x and then reload the old files and import the old tables?

No, because the database structure has vastly changed.

This is why it's suggested your take a backup before upgrading, you should be able to restore from that.  The process of converting to a third party and back is a troublesome one.

There are some that have done the time consuming task of manual edits to get it back, but it's not for the majority of people.
