You should already have all the necessary images inside the "red" archive. Maybe you missed some when uploading? They need to overwrite current ones.

Also, check that you are using the latest version of Helios , there were some changes quite a while back.

I am getting it. :)

I see how everything works now. Some of the images uploaded wrong. ;) I almost have it.

I really love this theme and have found that I can do a lot with it.  I thought about adding a banner inside the information box.  I've decided to move the news fader to the box.  What do I need to do to move the news fader from it's own seperate box to the right side of this one.

bloc

As I mentioned in the PM, its hard to move the actual newsfader up there, since its only present in the boards index, whereas that portion you display is present in all pages.

Ok... I want to be able to upload the themes so that people can choose which colour they want to use.

How do I do that?

bloc

Easiest would be to simply upload - not use "browse" in admin section - the Helios theme to 3-4 different folders, named Helis_red, Helios_green etc. (don't use spaces).

Then upload the "pod" folder from the color variations and replacing the "pod" folder in each of these Helios folders...and simply install them all by writing in the path in the admin section and presing "install".

A bit cumbersome, but there you have it.

Hrmmm - looking at the 'pod' folder, the default one has like 62 picutres.  But uploading the contents of 'helios-pod-red' will mean it has 91 files.

What's those extra image files for exactly?

Also, there is another 'zip' file inside this one that have about 60 files in it.

EDIT: Don't worry, looks like the ZIP was just zipped up an extra time. It's the only one that has the extra zip in it.

Hi Bloc,

Is there any chance of a button called Music Forum.  Just a basic one like the standard buttons at the top (home, profile, etc)

Thanks in advance

Lisa
It does work fine with both 1.0.2 and 1.0.3. I just haven't updated the title.

Hi
I am trying to reduce the width of the Helios theme, so that it fits with the widlth that I have for the rest of my website. Where do I go to reduce the width to 760px? Thanks

Easiest way is to find this code:
<body>';
And replace with:
<body><div style="width: 760px;">';

and finding this:
        echo '
        </body>
</html>';

replacing with:
        echo '</div>
        </body>
</html>';

Hi

I would like to get SMF, using the Helios theme, centered but cannot figure out how. Here is the website. http://www.tagderry.com/youth/home.shtml [nofollow] If you click on Forum (up top) it will load the SMF with Helios theme. Any help would be appreciated.

Bill

Try removing all the "align=center" in the first divs..they center the content rather it seems.

Have you tried setting align="center" in JUST the first <table> tag, leaving the aforementioned divs free of any alignment?

Hi Bloc,

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure... I would assume that you are referring to index.template.php??? I have tried a few different things in between the <body> tags, but my knowledge of php code is limited. I did find a message on the smf forum that talked about it but it didn't seem to provide a solution. You can find it here. http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=33355.0 What was suggested is to create  a table to surround the entire forum with align="center". Each time I do though it returns the follow error message. I have tried changing things around in addition to adding the '; after the html commands.

Template Parse Error!
There was a problem loading the /Themes/helios/index.template.php template or language file. Please check the syntax and try again - remember, single quotes (') often have to be escaped with a slash (\). To see more specific error information from PHP, try accessing the file directly.

You may want to try to refresh this page or use the default theme.

I have even tried to tell the style sheet to center the body but I am not sure what the code is that would give it that command. I feel like I have done all that I know to do. If you haven't checked it out yet you can see it here. http://www.tagderry.com/youth/smf/index.php [nofollow]

Bloc, any suggestions would be helpful

Basically you need to add both a containing <div> right after the <body> tag, and THEN a <table> tag with align="center" after that. Then it will be centered. The key here is to have something aligned, it must be relative to a container.

I have attached the modified file here, in case you need it. Just rename it to index.template.php.

This is a theme called Helios for those interested. :) It's probably not everyones's cup of tea, but I enjoyed making it tremendously - and hopefully others will find a use for it. There is a test-forum at http://www.bloczone.net/smf [nofollow] where the theme can be seen in full effect.

Add-ons:
If you want a different look on the theme, just download one of these alternative sets and upload its content in the ..themes/helios(?)/images/pod/ folder, overwriting the original files.

Installing is explained elsewhere in this board but if you have any problems , just ask and I will try to help.

As with my other theme, the option of adding a logo ( picture ) is in the admin section ("current themes settings"), along with choosing where to put it. If you don't want to use it, leave the textfield blank. Graphics are free to use as long as they stay within a SMF forum.

Any comments are welcome.

How do you gather all the zip files together so you can install everything at one time, not sure. You know the additional upshrink buttons and all. Or will the admin panel know what to do with those files, and if this is so what and where do you find that on your admin pane.? ;)
