If this only just started happening then you should contact your host. If you haven't done anything to cause it then its likely to be your server having issues.

Please don't send me ANY support related PMs. I will just delete them.

AlenNS

Ok. I've send them a mail.
But it's strange because my test forum works fine on the same server.

AlenNS

This morning my forum was down. I don't know the reason, all pages was blank.
I've used Beta 3 Public.

I've tried everything, but no results.
So I've decided to upgrade to Beta 4.

After downloaded small upgrade from SMF site, I've copied all the files and started upgrade.php and it said that there is samo files missing. I am sure that I've been copied all files from upgrade package.

So I've moved installation of Beta 4 on my server, but I'm afraid to lose 700 members and 130000 messages if I start installation.

What should I do now? :(

try installing fresh files... then use "repairsettings.php" to change your new install smf DB to the old DB

Forum looks up and running now.  In future if an issue is resolved please try to come back and mark it solved.

I still don't know the reason of problem that just happened that morning on my forum.
Night before that it had been working fine  untill 3:35 when last message was sent.
In the morning my users sent me SMS that forum is blank and neither of pages couldn't be opened.

I had analized and repaired my database through cPanel but still nothing.
Than tried with repairsetting.php and nothing. I have no idea what happaned there but my host told me that they had registered attack from certain IP adress. They told me to forbiden access for that IP because thay have been detected DoS ( denial of service ) attack.

Then I tried with small upgrade from Beta 3 to Beta 4 and failed.
After that I tried with large upgrade and somehow I did it.

Noe I'm using Beta 4.

Rumbaar

I would speak to your host then, as it seems to be an issue that might point to hosting issues.

They sent me several e-mails with informations about status of my server and everything was fine by their side.
I just don't have any idea what could be a reason for blank page on every page on my forum.

I'm happy that I didn't lose big community and big work...

Rumbaar

If you're doing absolutely nothing, and nothing is changing, but your forum is going down randomly then I would think it's your host.  There is little other reasons or causes for such outages.

Though if you are linking to third party code, like ads etc it could be mal-formed code that is causing it.

I don't know. They say that there wasn't any errors and problems with them.

Rumbaar

Well I'm sure they will say that, but you can try installing a totally blank and fresh copy of SMF and run some tests.  If you find that forum is down at the same time as your main, when it does go down, then you can safely assume it's a host issue.

My test forum in other folder installed worked fine at the same time main forum was down. :)

Rumbaar

Ah, then it must be a mod and/or content that is loading and causing it to fail.

Probably. I'll never found out...

Rumbaar

You can find out, with a little troubleshooting.  You can add the mods/content changes to your test forum (or additional test forum) until you can duplicate the results.  Then you'll be able to identify the exact cause of the issue.

Well, I am now on Beta 4 and that was on Beta 3.

I should install Beta 3 on one test folder and install all mods that I have when forum vent down?

Is that what you pointing?

Rumbaar

No if it's not an issue with your current forum, at all, anymore.  Then I advice doing nothing :)
