Hello
I am running small Arabic community forum
To fight spammers and bot registration, I simply used: "banning usernames with latin characters/alphabets: a, b, c...."
This was in the past, when I had a terrible weapon I used on phpbb2 : a simple edit in registration routine!! so only arabic charaters/alphabets were allowed : ا ي ت ث ج ح ......  ;)

Today, I discoverd in my SMF 2 beta 4 has an interesting fonction : "Set Reserved Names"
My question: can I use wildcards in Reserved Names field , like this:
[a-zA-Z0-9]

or should I enter a, b, c, ... A, B,... 1,2....   :(
then uncheck "Match whole name only"

Why don't you try it?

Set a reserved name with a wildcard, and try to register it. Then tell us if it worked or not :).
