Hello

I'm looking to set up member groups on my forum. I would ideally like to be able to set up a specific moderator within each group - They would have moderator powers within their group, but no were else. However I don't want to allow them access to the main moderation panel.

Ideally able to select the moderator for that board as I would any other boards would be good.

Is this possible?

Thanks

Piers

Hello krom_stormbro . . .
You are able to assign permissions for specific boards so they have moderator permissions over that board. You could see documentation, or is this different from what you want?

Slightly different.

I want to be able to give them power to control moderation on a specific board on the forum. Although, I don't want them to have full mod powers over the full forum or in fact access any of the mod panels.

The reason being is we are setting up "sub" forums. So a group of people from the forum can get together to have their own section. This needs someone from their group to be able to do basic moderation - move posts etc.

Make sense?

Yes, you can assign moderators with the 'Moderators' list for each board when you create/modify a board in your admin panel under 'Forum' -> 'Boards'.

I know I can do that, but that them gives them access to the mod panel - Which I don't want.

They need that exact same control as the method you suggested, but without the ability to see the mod panel.

These guys won't be official moderators so I don't want them to see what the mod / admin team are discussing.

You'll have to make the boards in question local permission and assign 'moderator' styled permissions to that group within that local board.  They'll have the powers there but no others and not classed as moderators for the whole forum and thus no Moderations Panel access.
