Preview Post does not work

Greetings everyone.  :)

Let me start out by saying that I'm a complete newbie to SMF and I hardly have any experience with php. I just installed version 1.1.6 (fresh install). It's great software except that I can't get the preview post function to work (at least not with IE7 which I'm currently using). I just "hangs" while fetching the preview and IE7 is displaying that a problem occured on the page. Everything else seems to be running fine.

I found another post related to this problem in version 1.1.5 here:http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=258236.0

It sounds like the same kind of issue but I could not see a solution in the above post.

I have installed the Danish utf8 language pack and hand edited some of the translations (I found quite a few grammatical errors in this language pack so it could use some work btw.). Other than that I have been messing with the style.css in order to change the color scheme to my needs and replaced some of the the defaut icons with those from the colgreen theme in the multi color theme pack. However, my guess is that this is not the source of the problem.

I have checked the SMF error log and it has no entries related to this issue (only 2 instances of a mistyped password are currently displayed).

Any ideas?

I have now tried to use Firefox insted of IE7 since that was one of the browsers that supposedly did not have problems with the preview post function according to pundravac in the thread I linked to above.

That worked for me also and leads me to the conclusion that I have the exact same problem as described by pundravac with version 1.1.5.

The forum I'm working on can be seen here:

In case you need me to set up a test account or anything please let me know.

Thank you so much in advance - and I'm already grateful for the otherwise excellent freeware you are offering.  :)

Nobody able to help? :(
Or am I being too impatient?  :-\

Its possible that this could be an issue with your server config, but we shall see.

Can you setup a test account please?

I hope we figure out a solution because I have the same problem :(

I kind of have the same problem.

I wanted to install the Message-PreView on a forum that did not have it installed yet.

When I went to install it, it said it was "Corrupted or not for this version of SMF" I had recently updated SMF to 1.1.7.  I got the same message when I then tried to install the "Message-PreView on Hover" package.

Message-Preview is still running, installed BEFORE the 1.1.7 update, on my other forums, at least with Safari, and I updated those to 1.1.7 also.

Ideas???

I don't see any issue with the javascript and no page loading errors.  So not too sure.  Can you supply a test account, as there might be features that are loaded for registered users that isn't showing up for guests.

I did notice a few issues with your current style.css with missing images, etc
Your main tabs are pointing too:

Which doesn't exist.  Not sure what other changes made or how they might affect the preview function.  This is why it's best to work on a copy of the default theme than the default theme directly.  So we can go back and test functionality in the default CORE theme and see if it's a theme modification causing issues.

Finally please update to 1.1.7 ASAP!
