Have you made any changes to the source code?  Applied any modifications?

SMF by default strips off the path information.

No did not change anything, but my site did go down the other evening, becouse of mysql database and messed up my bridge between coppermine and smf forum.

Do you have "encrypt filenames" on or off?

Very weird, it was selected on, but when I turn it off, it now looks like this:

CDocuments_and_SettingsMarkMy_DocumentsMy_PicturesBackgroundtop.jpg (3.24 KB, 276x83 - viewed 3 times.)    the \ is now missing.

Does anyone know what file generates this, maybe its corrupt and needs replacing.

Post.php and Subs.php together do this functionality.

Replaced both these files with backups from a week ago before this started, and its still the same.

In Post.php, what happens if you find this:

if ($_FILES['attachment']['name'][$n] == '')
continue;

And add after that:

$_FILES['attachment']['name'][$n] = basename($_FILES['attachment']['name'][$n]);

How do I modify files?
