Setting up a Trash can & Moving a message

I have a Trash bin set up on the forum, but when I went to remove a message, It cannot find the trash bid I made, I just receive a error
So I am thanking I don't have it set up correctly..


2.

I would like to Move a message in a thread, and move it to another Thread within that same Category,  But I don't want the entire Thread moved, ..

How do I do this?

1)  In your Admin control panel, under Edit Features and Options, you need a check in the box to Enable recycling of deleted topics, and just below that you need to tell it which board to put the trash in.

2)  To do this you must first split the post from the original topic, then merge it into the destination topic.  It is best to uncheck Post a redirection topic.

splitting the post is not working..
I cannot move it back into the same Category,

It wants to move into a new Category, and even then I cannot find the Topics it needs to move into.

Did I do something wrong?

yes I did do something wrong.. I got it to work.. whew long day here I guess.. and cannot seem to follow instructions today.
