Allowing registering users to set their group

Hi,

Is there a way in which a user can set their own non-post group upon registration?

Was just wondering if anyone else has done this?

Sorry for taking so long to respond.

No, this is currently not allowed for security reasons.  A modification could be made to do it - for example, one person made it set the group by means of the email address' domain name - but there's nothing in 1.0 to do this automatically without any changes.
