It returns error when a new member tries to register onto my forums.

I checked the conflicting files and I have a detailed report on it.

Actually I used the upgrade function, shall i try that again or shall I upload the files manually?

According to error report

ModSettings.php -1.1
LoadAds.php - ??

Before you do anything, what error is it returning? And do you have any other related errors in your Forum Error Log?

Also, which exact version of SMF are you running? And did you upgrade it from 1.1.x at some stage?

Please don't send me ANY support related PMs. I will just delete them.

Hi LHVWB, thanks for the reply,

My first installed verion of SMF was 1.1.5 through fantastico from cpanel and i upgraded it to 1.1.6 when SMF adviced me to upgrade it,which was from admin panel and I uploaded no files for it, and then now recently I upgraded to 2.0.4 manually and I am having this problem

When I check for errors it shows no error log, where to get the error log exactly?, i guess I might be seeing on the wrong section.

So I decided to check for file version conflicts, and these listed files have a conflict version.

i guess the English UTF.php on language section  is causing the error.
I didnot have any related errors

You can view errors at the Forum maintenance section of the Admin CP.
I doubt it's a conflict with language files, but actual forum files (sources, etc)

Which FTP Client did you use to upload the files?
Are you sure all files were replaced? Can you re-upload all files using FileZilla, it has a section below to show which files failed, so you could re-que and overwrite all files that failed to transfer. Please, download the 2.0 Beta 4 Large Upgrade Package and re-upload all files again except upgrade.php and upgrade.sql files. :)

Thanks for the friendly support again, will do it and comeback and report you if the problem continues.

Oh actually I used only large upgrade since mine wasn't 2.0.3 before, since it was 1.1.6 I had to use large upgrade.

I used leechftp which does have a function to track failed uploads, as there is a seperate tab to list it.

Would it be a better idea for me to install another SMF forum and transfer all content from old one to the new one? I guess if there is an option like it might solve the problems.

Thanks

What files do you want to transfer?
All forum data is stored in your database, so you should be trying to upgrade the current 1.1.6's database structure to support 2.0.
You can delete all SMF files on the server except Settings.php and Settings.php_bak, upload the large upgrade package and point your browser to the upgrade.php script.

Thanks N3rve again ,for the help and support.

So if Install a new SMF, and delete the new data base and upload my old database will it function properly, if thats the case I will do it immdly.

I guess the problem could be installing an uninstalling Jfusion when I ha 1.1.6 and now after upgrading that might have caused the problem.

Thanks once again, I hope you be my demon Hammer :)

See: How do I move my SMF board to a different host?

It will help you with the restoration, and yes you can use an old database with new files ;)

Great great, your simply a Genius, your support in solving the issue was the best I have seen on the net, Your really a Demon Hammer, you hammered all my demons. SMF Rocks , so is the support.  8) :)

What I did is created a new folder and updated all files from large upgrade and copied settings.php and setting.php_bak and used restore.php to point to the new forum directory, i didnt touch the mysql at all, and now it works perfect.

I am just having one last trouble, I have installed clanwar theme , and I am unable to remove the top bannerof clanwar, any help in that would be appreciated, thanks.

I'm Glad :)

Unfortunately, we don't provide support for themes and mods on the Support boards.
You'll have to ask in the themes's Support topic (all themes/mods) have one.
A link to the Support and comment topic can be found on it's page.
