Thanks for welcoming me to SMF. Well, when I get to Admin > Server Settings... There are 3 tabs, there are 2 in which I cannot change anything. And there is 1 of caching, I don't understand it. I hope you answer me this and tell me what to do, greyknight17.

Welcome to SMF.

Go to Admin > Server Settings and change the name there.
Just Following a bit deeply for the user.

Admin panel --> Server Settings --> In there it says  "Forum Title" in front of some forms. You need to change that. (on the page where it shows Server settings.

Hello, thanks for the help... I actually found that. But I can't change it, it says "These settings cannot be changed because Settings.php is read only.". Can you tell me where can I make this "Setting.php" editable or something?

Login via FTP, Go in the directory of the forum, right click over the file, make the file permission as 777 if it lets you add the number, or tick all the check boxes for Read, Write and Execute.

Umm, what is "FTP"? And can you please explain more deeper...? This is a bit hard for me to explain, thanks for all your help so far.

Please don't send me ANY support related PMs. I will just delete them.

You can even go via Cpanel and do it, but You have to really start learning what is FTP.

Hmm, actually... Is it possible to delete the forums and create another one with the same address and everything? If so, please tell me the steps to do it.

Either do it this way:-

Admin panel --> Server Settings --> In there it says  "Forum Title" in front of some forms. You need to change that. (on the page where it shows Server settings.

Or open settings.php from anywhere, either Cpanel or FTP, change the forum name inside it.

It will be somewhat like this:-
########## Forum Info ##########
$mbname = 'Goldysun';      # The name of your forum.

In my case its goldysun, so you need to change it accordingly.

How do I use FTP? I downloaded it but I don't know what to do now. I don't even know how to create an account on FTP, can you please tell me how to create an account on FTP and also tell me how to access "Settings.php" from there? Please tell me detailfully all the steps I must do. Oh, and do I need to download the SMF? Where and how do I download it? Please help me, I really need to change the forum's name.

To make a custom name, so that it doesn't change based on the page you are on, go into your index.php and change the <title> line.

1. Get an FTP client, i recommend filezilla so here:- https://www.ohloh.net/projects/filezilla/download?filename=FileZilla_3.1.5_win32-setup.exe
2. In the host, put your website name, in the username put your username which you use to connect to the cpanel of your website.
3. put the password you use to connect to the cpanel.

Note:- it may vary in someway. Sometimes the host dont create a default FTP, nor have Cpanel11. So you will have to check it in your panel correctly for an FTP account.

If you want me to do it for you, just PM me your login for the cpanel, website link and the name of the website you want.
