Maybe it's nothing, but in the test board I noticed:
When I tried to edit a poll, I could fill in 11 options (only I couldn't submit, didn't have the right permissions), but when I tried to start a poll, I could only fill in 8 options...

Edit: it's only with this poll: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=editpoll;start=0;threadid=96
When I try to edit different polls, I can fill in also just 8 options...

When you edit a pol, you can then add more than 8 options :)

Only when you edit a poll? I mean, why not when you start a poll...?

Is that a special case? ^-^

The reason for this is we're in the process of adding "infinite options" support to polls.  Being one of the most-requested poll modifications, we felt it a necessary addition to SMF.

We haven't, however, been able to decide on a suitable interface - so the feature hasn't been fully implemented.

Ah, ok! :) Thanks, Joseph, for this clear answer! :) Hope you figure it out soon, because it's very handy! :)

You're welcome!

And I'm sure we will.

Yea infinite options sounds great. Although I really hope its something you can choose before you create the poll. Otherwise there is a risk of people voting before all the options have been added - or it being VERY tiresome to have to keep adding more and more options if you wanted, say, 30 options
I'm only a half geek really...

Just, enter in a form how many options you want, when creating the poll, and have a standard number of, say 8, options, and when you edit the poll, you get the number of options you submitted in the form when created the poll...Something like that... ?

Actually it is fully implemented and done. (although the interface may likely change.)

Any administrator can do it properly, BUT it happens the permissions are not done so no one else can add options yet.
