Need some help...

Hi i need some help, I'm really lost... What i need is a Log-in for my forum users directly on my website without any redirect, It should be plain linked as there profile and working between the website and forum, so if they were signed in once they shouldnt have to sign in twice entering the forum.

Is this possible?

I went through http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=173483.0 but i didnt really get it, if anyone could show me where i should start that would be great!

How are you building the other website, just in HTML or php?   Are you using a content management system of any sort?
