Problems with PHPBB to SMF conversion

I am having a problem with a conversion from PHPBB to SMF.

I installed SMF and got it working.  I then attempt to run "phpbb2_to_smf.php".  At first, I am presented with two fields, where I input the directories for both SMF, and PHPBB2.  I then input the password for the database.

When I hit "Continue", I get a blank page, (the page has the "phpBB2 to SMF Converter" header, but the rest of the page has a grey background with no content).

The url shows "step=1" in the query string.

Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

But, SMF works perfectly fine?  Can I see a phpinfo? What is phpinfo.php?

I will look at the link that you posted... but I was able to install SMF.  I logged on, posted a message, toyed around with the admin section.. didn't get any errors.

Are you sure the phpBB installation still functions?  Or... did you get it to work, after all?

I can't imagine what would cause the converter to simply quit like that.  I would guess it must be some incompatibility, but SMF works fine and you seem to have everything else in PHP.  Strange.
