I am a bit confused about what you want to do. Do you want to...
1) Overwrite your default theme with clean files?
2) Or overwrite your entire forum with clean files?

Either way, you should be able to download a clean version of SMF 2 Beta, and then upload and overwrite your old files with the new ones that you want, that won't do any damage to topics or your database. It will undo custom template edits and uninstall mods though.

so simply if i take everything out of the www folder and dont touch anything in the phpmyadmin/mysql

all my topics will be there ?

see the problem is i added mods and they sorta made a mess cause i added to many and anyways so i just need to have it where i can uninstall the template with all the mods in it and delete that template what ever is in the www and put in a default 1 and it should solve my problem with a fresh new look with still my topics in it

If you want to reset everything, and get to a 'fresh' install but with your db data intact.  Download the Large Upgrade package and override all your files with the contents of that package.  That will retain your settings.php file and connection to your current db and you'll have a clean install of the forum.
