? Character problem.

Hi,

I find when i edit a post where there is a smiley next to the text, once i submit editted post i get '&nbsp' (without quotes). Can someone help me and tell me why i keep getting these strange characters when editing posts, from what i can tell it only happens when a smiley has been placed next to the text.

SMF version? List of mods? Any errors in your Forum Error Log?

Hi sorry.

I disable my error log as i get thousands of eval errors so to find an exact error when i get those eval errors is a nightmare. I wish i could get rid of them for good. I think nearly every mod i have installed via package manager gives an eval error after i installed. May i ask whilst at it what does those eval? error thingys actually mean as my site works fine so not sure why they are caused and if serious, they just cause hundreds of pages of errors, within about 5 clicks i can get well over a dozen pages in error log all saying eval at the end.

No i dont use uft8. I use just the normal english, no other languages etc and not uft8.

Oh rite, i got the latest version so not sure why i amm getting it then. Problem is when i do an edit the smiley also no longer shows as the gap between the smiley and text dissapears so the smiley comes part of the strange characters.

Maybe i should ask the mod author then.

Hi we,, here are the errors after disabling eval. I am trynig your way in a bit DirtRider thanks. Is that what the solution was for the aduio/video mod

Really would love to hav my error log back on as it so vital to sort out problems but because of so many evals i disabled it, maybe time has come where i can enable it for good

mmm i not ever recognised that b348 either, i will do some digging as that is suspicious looking. Not sure if related to a mod, can't see it thou as part of the regulations for mods is to make people clear on such things etc. I wonder if i can somehow track what it belongs to

A sample: when you install a mod, do you follow exhactly the all modifications needed in the custom themes?

That's about the treasury mod.
A part of code was missing, and I've added it to the correct location.
Even with the usercp.template.
I guess that something else is missing with other mods, that's why the all errors. Just a guess..

All mods apart from 2 installed via Package Mananger, then i do manual edits as you shown. This is what i find confusing. I double check all my manual edits and use package manager for the main part of installs, only manual edits i do is on custom theme which is very basic and simple following instructions and if a file showed as failed.
