Fixing the message icon change when editing post

I don't know if you can call this feature request, feels like bug to me. Anyway, every time you edit a post or topic, it sets the message icon to default and you have to change that too every time you edit your post. We are using exclamation icon for stickied threads to keep them easily recognisable from the normal ones plus we are updating the starting post often. It's a little irritating, any way to fix this?

Looks to me like a problem of your forum. This is not the normal behaviour, and it does not happen in my forums. Have a link?
