quick reply problem

there is a problem with quick reply. i am using smf 1.0.1 version, when i open quick reply, it works for a while. when i log in again later, i see that quick reply is closed. i could not find the problem. please help me

i found the problem.

when a new user registered, his/her quick reply settings is set to close. then all users set closed.

i dont know why

Not sure why it's doing that for all members...

Anyway, you can set it to open for all new users this way:

Admin -> Current Theme's Settings -> Change the default member specific options

I'm having similar problem.  I'm using the Default theme and currently trying to activate a Quick Reply box.

In the "Change the default member specific options", I've set the "Use quick reply on topic display:"  to "show, on by default", but I don't see a Quick Reply box anywhere.

Right now, the only way to set it on is by changing the Look and Layout Preferences on every member's profiles one by one.

Any idea?

Ok, I got it.  I have to change it through "Reset member specific options for all members." Doh!

Btw, inside that page, I see two checkboxes on some options.  What does each checkbox do?

First checkbox says change the value of this option to whatever the second one is set to
