Then you should uninstall this mod until the issue is fixed.

I will try to fix all issues at once :)

Until then, please try an alternative solution, as you said.

Uninstall the mod and reinstall it, or manually add the code to the new theme.

Bugo

Just imagine that need reinstall a lot of mods (50+) :)

Arantor

I didn't say it was ideal ;) But that's the situation as it stands.

NanoSector

We actually need a function that allows you to automatically search through your mods and then reports which ones can be installed in the new theme. would be super great.

Anyhow, no development going so far...school. Bah.

Which doesn't help in the case of manually installed mods.

Yeah but it WILL in the case of Package Manager mods ;)

Yes and no. The package manager does store what themes it has already installed to, but has no way of knowing if you installed something manually to a theme - so it's possible it might try and install something again. I've seen cases where it's installed something twice to custom themes when it shouldn't have, because the log of what was installed was badly maintained.

Though really, if you're putting in the time and energy to overhaul the package manager that much, you might as well spend it more productively making the core better able to support mods without needing any kinds of theme edit in the first place.

Bugo

No changes in index.template.php, for example. Only in Sources dir.

Arantor

Sometimes it's unavoidable to make theme changes, such as in this mod for example, because the buttons are generated at theme level.

Bugo

Well, nothing is impossible to a willing heart :)

Arantor

I proved a great many things were possible without theme edits, such as a popup menu appearing when you click on a user's name in the post display - without a theme edit. Heck, I even proved it could be done to remove the links to unread/unread replies from the index.template.php without a template edit, but to inject the links needed for this mod without a template edit... there's just nowhere to hook it in.

Damn... hopefully this mod will work for RC4... I'll be waiting for it ;D.

It already works besides a few flaws; use the package I posted (look through the pages).

Is there anyway to make this also merge topics or would that require a whole rewrite?  I have a forum that allows guest posting and occasionally someone maliciously spams the board with the same message.  Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.  Thank you.
