Installing SMF 2.0 or 1.1.7?

Hello guys,
i had problem with my previous SMF 1.1.7, full of mods that created me a lot of problems. i preferred to delete the work of 1 year and start newly with the MINIMUM number of mods. In this way when will be published the new updates i'll have to edit the lowest number of mods.

Now the dilemma: installing SMF 1.1.7 or SMF 2.0?

I know that SMF 2.0 is still in beta but i'm worried a day i've to remake all the hard work because something can go wrong with the update from 1.1.7 to 2.0.

Personally I'm sticking with 1.1.7 until at least an RC release and likely until 1.x is no longer supported, but its up to each admin to look at the pros and cons.

Make a backup, try the update on localhost first, then go for it on the server, and nothing can go wrong.

I personally prefer 2.0, it's stable enough to run a production site, but I do agree with this:
