ssi_recentPosts show by thread, date, include body

Hello SMF community,

I am trying to create a page which easily shows the latest posts on the board. I have a working model here:

The code I am using for the page is here:

So, what's currently happening is, for every board on our forum, I am implementing this code like this:

and I don't include the number of the board in the list after "chooseBoard" and that gives me the proper list of recent topis from that board.

What I can't figure out how to do is to order these by date and/or thread. I also cannot figure out how to quote the first 50 characters (or so) from the body of the thread.

Any help out there?

It's already sorted by date of posting... you'll have to edit SSI.php to add the quote from the post and change "exlcude boards" to mean "include boards", like so... find:

How do I modify files?

Please note, generally bumping a post after a day, which agreed is a long time, will only make more people ignore your question.  I have a lot of posts to answer and respond to, and I often do the patient ones first.
