Hidden Users

Is there any way to make hidden users public? I know I can keep new users from being hidden, but Can I go into database and change already hidden users so that they are not hidden? Can I change something in MSQL?

And why isn't there any way in administration to switch hidden users to make them all public? Is it a programming issue?

Try this query in phpmyadmin:

UPDATE smf_members SET showOnline  = '1'


Change that prefix to yours (smf_)

how about just going to admin page...and then the forum options...and then unselect where you allow hidden members..??

ygmn is suggesting that when you disable allowing people to hide themselves that it does in fact show them or change them back to displayed. I ran into this very thing as I had a couple of members go hidden, disabled it, and they remained hidden even though I wasn't allowing members to hide themselves.

That setting will disallow that setting from that point. If some user has hidded himself before, he stays hidden. IMO it should reset everyone to unhidden, but it wont do that currently. It just stops future hides.

Is there any chance that this might change in the future, because to some people (myself) this can get to be a nusiance with everyone hiding like they were CIA or something. 

A couple was no problem, but now it's an epidemic.
