Fatal php crash

Im getting this error in my forums after doing an upgrade from 1.1.7

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 40 bytes) in /var/www/smf2/Sources/Subs-Db-mysql.php on line 655

Any solutions?

Edit: i upped the max memory for php and it got pass this error. However, im not presented by a white page trying to load the forums. :(
