presently have
SMF1.1.7
SMG 1.5
SP 2.1.1

If i upgrade to SMF 2.0 beta [large upgrade over present files] I will loose the gallery and portal files BUT the db information will remain. Then if I install SMG and SP I will get them back WITH the images etc that where present before ?

sherpa　サイバー侍 is correct.  There are a number of changes in the database from 1.1.7 to 2.0.  You would need to ask on the specific support sites about any content of the SMG 1.5 or the SP 2.1.1 files being salvaged.  If those mods are available for 2.0 there may be something you can do.

*most* mods retain their information when reinstalled, however you will want to check with the mod authors first.

SMF's database will be upgraded to the 2.0 database version.
