Recount forum totals and statistics not working?

I have a section on my forum where the threads and replies do not count towards the forums total post count, nor a member's post count.

I've just changed this so that they do count, and done a recount in forum maintenance. However, this has not made a difference to the forums total post count which should have gone up be almost 4000 posts... ?

It will only start counting with the first post after you turn that on. The others didn't count at the time, so they're not going to be counted unless you manually update it in phpMyAdmin.
