new posts and new members doesnt work

The lin k for new posts and the link for members need ctivation both respond when there are members or pots but when I follow the link they page shows no member or posts.
The forum shows new posts with the "new" logo and if i search for un activated members they are there.

What should I look for ?

got the same with member activation - shows a new member, but click on it and nothing there - have to activate them from email link
