help: how to show recent post this way

Hi guys please i would need some help . i came across this forum www.barcaforum.com and i appreciate the way the recent post / new forum post box on the side looks , i would like to know if i can do something similar to that using smf .

That forum is powered by vBulletin, a different forum software. It would take a some custom coding to get your recent post box like that.

Piece of cake, with Simple Portal, coz it has a preconfigured block, for that very purpose.
