Where has 'Show Unread Posts', etc., gone?

I've recently reinstalled SMF 2.0 b4 but have noticed that the section which should display the welcome information no longer has this kind of info showing:

Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts.

In fact, as you'll see from the attachment, it's completely blank.

Anyone know why and how to amend it? I'm using the standard theme.

as well Custom Greeting Depending on Time giving you real problem

sherpa -- thanks for the observations to date.

You're right that it's not a fresh install, but an upgrade from an earlier version.

I followed your advice and hand removed the Custom Greeting Depending on Time mod, but it didn't resolve the problem.  Actually I tried removing all the mods from the relevant template and unread posts still didn't appear.

Any other ideas?

Copy the relevant code from the index.template.php that is in the installation zip.

Found the problem!

It was this MOD http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1497 which removes the standard text. I've kept the mod, but switched back the bit that was causing the problem.
