YaBB SE -> SMF on the same url

Hey all

We finally decided to upgrade/convert our yabb se forum to new SMF.

I have read the instructions posted here and I have two questions:

- how do I convert our forum into SMF in the same folder?
www.our_domain.net/forum/ <-- this must stay the same

- will everything stay the same after convertion? (posts, topics, boards, karma points, moderators, admins, polls etc...)
Everything?

Yup upload the upgrader and run it and it should all be working again!

But make a backup

Ive never done it but others have said it was pretty easy and painless.

So, I just overwrite old yabb se files and install SMF on the same mySQL and then convert using convertion file?

is that is?

I mean, instructions say to install smf in different folder, not in the same one.

Just upload files to your forums root (yes, overwrite) and run upgrade.php. Thats it!

What about the outlook itself. Will the nice blue yabb se theme stay the same?

I have read somewhere here that in order to keep the same outlook certain folders and files
shouldn't be overwritten.

Can anyone clear this up for us, please?

oh, I must say that new forum, new SMF IS much better.

The upgrade script will offer you the chance to convert your existing theme so you should be fine, just back up before you start just in case.

Yep, will back up all the files and mySQL as well.
