Is it normal for you to get the save as .... box when you uninstall/remove a mod?

It ask me to save the index.php

Strange that it's sending it with some weird header.  And this doesn't happen when you try to install, only for uninstallation?

uninstall or delate, I added the upgrade a day after it came out, and I did not see it happen then.

Is there a fix?

I was removing mods today, and even they show up as gone, they are not.. So what ever this problem it is now worse then first thought

This Question was first posted on the 19th,and would have gone unanswered if I did not bump it. then I received another Question on the 20th. your last reply was on the 21st, without an answer or a fix.

If this post wasn't bumped up again, I would have been told to copy the same things once again, or not to cross post.

without an answer, I had to try something on my own, I made backups of my forum, and removed SMF then reinstalled it.... only to find out that the back  up I made was corupt.
not only that, but no way to reinstall the database from the way it backuped , many hours later, I found some tools, only to be told thatall of the backup files where corupt.

Now put your feet in my shoes, board that was working but at the same time NOT working
files corupt, even at the point where I was giving a fulse sence of sucrutey of at least having backups..

Instead of fussing because I bumped up a post from many days past, SFM should have at least tired to help, or at least let me know someone was working on the answer. the support link tells you to post in the fourm.

But no matter now, I have removed my site, I am not going to put my users though this again. and I only came in to let you know there was no need to find the answer now.

I am sorry you think that I have no respect for you, I do. Your always going to run into people who do not understand php

Largely because this is a very server-dependent problem.  It means the headers are being sent wrong by your webserver... and not one other person has had this problem.

I've had things not work.  I've had problems.  I've had monitors blow out, cd rom drives shake and destory the CDs they contained.  I've had faulty parts from the manufacturers.  Note that these are all things I paid *good money* for.

I never once bugged the people I was asking for support.  I HAVE been asked to call back later, or wait for them to call me back.  I haven't lost my patience; I've waited, even if they don't call me back nearly as quickly as they said they would... weeks later.

It's one thing to bump after a week.  That's understandable.  But to bump within 24 hours?

Either way, this is not a critical issue - so you can't install mods.  I'm sorry - but this isn't something that's critical.  I'm going to ignore a topic that's bumped, unless a good reason for the bumping is given - if you are going to possibly screw up your installation, that may be a reason to bump it (once) and then I'll respond.  Anything else... well, it only comes off as impatience.

I didn't say no respect or not.  I said you were not showing respect in bumping me.  I think you took my comments much farther than I meant them.

There are people who don't know things everywhere.  I don't know how to stitch a wound, for example... but did I panic when I broke open my head years ago?  No... in fact, I put my hand back there, and it came back covered in blood... I calmly went into class, and asked my teacher if it was okay for me to go to the nurse.  My teacher's eyes were the size of door knobs, but he said yes and off I went.
