Having trouble with resizing avatars

When I use the "if the avatar is too large..." option, and set it to "let the html resize it", I've found that ti also resizes avatars that are too small.

How do I fix this?

That's a problem you have to live with. The "let HTML resize it" option always does that. Set it to use GD instead.

Can you post a phpinfo?  You may not have GD installed at all.
