Will upgrading to v2 beta 4 solve this issue?

I use v2 b4 as a general user on a personal board (not an admin).

We have 1.1.7 currently for a work board.

We need it to send an email for every new topic, every new reply in the forums that are marked as to be notified.

Currently it is a hit and miss as to what is being notified on.  There seems to be no rhyme or reason behind what emails are being sent out and which aren't.

For example, on 1.1.7 we have forum A.  User L and M both have this as notify.  User M posted a reply to a topic in forum A and another user posted a reply.  User L got both notifications, user M got no notifications.

I am not able to find a fix in the forums here for that.  I am wondering if I were to upgrade to the newest 2 version, if that would solve that issue?

Or any thoughts on that???

I don't know about that offhand (one of the others will) but I'm currently using 1.1.7 and we had a lot of problems with emails going missing if people were using a hotmail address. The spam filters were dumping emails from our site unless they had been configured to allow them (which most people don't do, of course).

I've told many users to check their spam/junk boxes, and to add our address to their books. 

Some of the times, though, it is happening to different users within the office.

2.0 has the mailbox to limit email sending per hour so it won't exceed any hosts limits.

That might help.

I had alot of mail go missing because i exceeded my hourly or daily limit, then the host stops all my mail from going until they auto reset my limit the next hour/day.

queenmychl, is this issue resolved now?

Some mail providers may prevent a mail from getting sent at all even. Especially if it's an company email inbox. Other than that, you might want to check to see if there is a limit to the amount of emails you can send. SMF 1.1.x does not have the mail queue that limits the emails you can send out. SMF 2.0 has this but you might not want to run it in a production forum yet without testing it first.
