Just completed the upgrade to 2.0 beta 4 (from 1.1.7) and running it live on my forum... Great job on the software and the upgrade procedure - no major issues at all  :D

I'm having one little problem with avatars after upgrading to smf 2.0 - i have had this problem before but i can't find the post with the information. I know it was a simple fix.

The avatars on the forum are being cropped and there's a scrollbar under the av to move it side to side.

The last time i moved hosts and upgraded my forum it happened too so it's not SMF 2.0... Anybody know how to fix this again?

Thanks.

Sorry, forgot to mention that i tried that mod already, all it did was remove the scrollbar, the av's are still chopped in half... And i know it's a simple code adjustment.

The avs on my site are pretty big, there's a couple of ladies that do some custom work. It's not usually a problem, only after major changes. My laptop hard drive died and i lost all my links, the one i need is one of them.

One thing you can do is a small theme tweak to fix it. For whatever theme you're using, it involves an edit of the forum.css file in the "css" folder under the theme. So, using the default theme as an example, the file would be "Themes/default/css/forum.css".

With that file open, add this at the bottom:
.poster
{
    width: 155px;
}
.postarea, .postfooter, .moderatorbar
{
    margin-left: 165px;
}

Except, you'll want to change the "155px" and "165px" depending on what width limit you have set for avatars. Whatever your width limit is, add 5 to it for the first number and 15 for the second. So, in the example given above, it's for a maximum avatar width of 150 pixels.

rhynes, is this issue resolved now? Did you try the suggestion above?

sorry, forgot to post back... decided to go with a different theme and the issue worked itself out in the postings, av's are full size now. Still having the same issue with the pm screen tho, but i'm not so worried about it.

I think it usually has to do with the overflow and is usually theme/browser specific.
