Changelog
1.2.2 27th May 2009
o Fixed an undefined index error. Thanks to ke4obt for testing.

What do I need to do to fix this issue?  I've unstalled the mod and reinstalled it and still get the same errors.  In fact, when I uninstall the mod, the random quotes still show up at the top of the forum...even though that mod is nowhere to be found in my admin section.   :-\

What am I doing wrong?

Anyone able to do a RC2 Version? I really want this!

Read back a bit in the thread. This mod is no longer supported until I can find the time required to fix the fatal mistake and update the package. Sorry.

Thanks.  I thought I had read that it had been fixed and I was just doing something wrong.

arreferee, I'm not referring to the error log entry, but to a fatal error breaking the forum in the latest version. Mistake by me, probably uploaded an outdated package and deleted the correct one without noticing. Won't happen again.  :-[

Anyway, when you say "I've unstalled the mod and reinstalled it", do you mean you installed the same package? You need to use the new one (However, as I said, that's kinda... Broken.  O:))

Maybe that was my mistake.  I probably just reinstalled the same package.  I'll just turn it off for now and check back periodically.

Hopefully I'll get around to update it within a week or two. This is not the only mod of mine that needs updating (The others just have to be updated for the latest SMF 2.0 version).

I've never used it, but a random quote system would be nice (not to mention one of the best mods, from my point of view...)

I tried installing on a 2.0RC2 test forum (just installed a min ago), and get this error after installing, even tho when I emulated RC1.2:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ',' in /home/content/k/c/m/kcm93/html/TestForum/Sources/Load.php on line 2677

Load.php included

<div class="tborder" style="', !empty($modSettings['random_quote_custom_css'] ? $modSettings['random_quote_custom_css'] : 'padding: 5px;' , '">

This is your error line KC

May be worth having a play with this area.

Maybe someone else should be asked to look after the mod.

Try this,
Go get the "Simple Ad Rotator"  ;)  http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1774 (from Ha2, KkahneFan, Nas...)
+ you can run different sets top and bottom, if you want.

We're completely rebuilding our forum, etc, and are using this instead ( top only, so far ) ...
See it doin' its thing right below the menu at ... http://chipsontheweb.net/Box111

Admin the mod under "admin/modification settings"
I added three CSS classes to the "theme" we're modifying to style 'em, and then each line of text for each ad codes like this:
<div style="width: 80%"><p class="quobil" />An intro text:<span class="quoquo"> Quote 1 text or whatever </span> — <span class="quotag"> quote tag text or whatever </span></div>
<div style="width: 80%"><p class="quobil" />An intro text:<span class="quoquo"> Quote 2 text or whatever </span> — <span class="quotag"> quote tag text or whatever </span></div>
<div style="width: 80%"><p class="quobil" />An intro text:<span class="quoquo"> Quote 3 text or whatever </span> — <span class="quotag"> quote tag text or whatever </span></div>
<div style="width: 80%"><p class="quobil" />An intro text:<span class="quoquo"> Quote 4 text or whatever </span> — <span class="quotag"> quote tag text or whatever </span></div>
etc..

'tll you run out of memory. Random quote filled up at MySql limit... I haven't tried pushing this one yet : 8)
Just list 'em as complete html lines.... that is, follow the mod's instructions... it's pretty cool.
(I just wish the mod's input form was a few pixels wider...)

Cheers!

Geano that doesn't solve the problem.

I use the simple ad rotator mod for its intended use.

??? Golly, I thought that was what I was doing too... except 'advertising' quotes.... :(
(RQ wouldn't work, this did, on our RC-2) but I see your point...

Cheers!
