Chat for RC1

Does anyone have a chat setup and figured out yet for use with RC1?

Well the first question is, what do you mean by a Chat Setup? Do you mean how to add something like Xat to your forums?

check out flashchat at www.tufat.com - its popular software and i use it on my 1.1.8 and will be adding it to RC1 when i upgrade

it installs with your smf software and uses members forum log in details for it

there is apparently an integration mod being developed that adds a button and lists members in chat but untill that is released you can just add a link to it from your forum

Is there any chance you could explain on here for myself and anyone else interested. Would it be possible to allow access only to designated membersgroups ?

strictly the install of flashchat isnt an SMF support issue its a Tufat support as thats the people who release and support the flashchat chatroom and thats why i said id explain in pm rather than on the forum

im unsure of the full membergroup settings to allow access to as there is a new version of flashchat whereas i have been using an older version that was much more basic in its admin options

as for bandwidth i dont really think it uses much, not enuff to cause problem anyway, its never been a problem on my server with 15GB monthly usage

I have the guy that works on my coding looking into how to get this all to work together.  Using our user data base.  That came up right after I asked how to get it to all work together..

And ya as for bandwidth I can't see it doing much to each it up at all.

I have added the Chat tab for my forum with the simple instructions found here.  I am running 123Flashchat, a different program than the one discussed here.  What I am VERY interested in finding is the way to add the chat stats at the bottom of the Main page.  I had this with phpBB.  Users are interested in seeing if anyone is in chat and it listed the names and number of people, in case guests were in there.

I have the other admin on my site working on these things and hope to have it all up and working with in a few weeks I'll post up more when we get it all working..

It seems y'all have worked this all out.  As bullbreedluverz said, support questions concerning FlashChat should be directed to www.tufat.com.  They provide some very good integration docs.
