I'm trying to manually install a clean version of smf 2.0 RC1 but after the install, when I went to the install.php page, I got this error:

!!Warning!

This install script is out of date! The current version of SMF is 2.0 RC1 but this install script is for 2.0 Beta 4.

It is recommended that you visit the Simple Machines website to ensure you are installing the latest version.

I downloaded the package under 2.0 RC1 so why am I getting this error?
How do I get the right script?

Never mind. I know why I got that error and boy do I feel stupid. I had downloaded the beta version awhile back thinking I might try it but never did.
I installed Rc1 in the same folder and forgot I had downloaded the beta version so I clicked the first file that had a 2.
Now it's back to the drawing board.
I have to start all over again.

In the meantime, perhaps someone could tell me what permissions I'm suppose to change and what I'm suppose to change them to.

Hi Sheryl, SMF should prompt you to login with your FTP credentials if the permissions are not enough for the install. So start it off that way. Then once it's successfully installed, make sure you remove the install.php file. You may then set all the files to be 644 and the folders should be 755.
