Hi
i'm testing my SMF 2RC1 forum.
My official forum works ok, SMF 1.1.7
It's possibile to move users from SMF 1.1.7 to SMF 2 RC1 ?
I see in PhpMyAdmin....the smf_members table are different...
Thanks
Antonio

Yep it's possible, you should use large upgrade pack from the download page

http://download.simplemachines.org/index.php?thanks;filename=smf_2-0-rc1_upgrade.zip

so you can upgrade your forum version to rc1 and your database version as well

But after upgrade all your installed mods and other code changes will be gone

Maybe i can run in PhpMyAdmin only this file: upgrade_2-0_mysql.sql   ? or upgrade.php ? ( from large upgrade zip )

Nope it won't work, either you'll use the whole large upgrade pack also including the new files from rc1 or you keep your forum version as 1.1.x

Nothing...it's impossible :-(
I found solution: i make large upgrade of my actually forum ( 1.1.7 ) for to maintain actually members....then overwrite this forum with my new SMF 2 forum with installed new mods...it's ok ? will work ?
The last solution....actually members must renew registration! ( 230 members)

You'll need to duplicate your 1.1.x db and alter the settings.php for the RC1 install of your forum to point to that duplicate db.

Then upload the upgrade.php and sql files to your RC1 folder and run the upgrade process on that duplicated db to get it to RC1 status.  Then you'll have a copy of your 1.1.x forum at RC1 status.  Then delete all the boards and posts if you want to only keep the members table and related information.
