Hello..

I am (as user name shows) an extreme newbie with SMF, I expect to be at this forum a LOT in the foreseeable future.

Just got done installing, on the congratulations page I receive a message:

"Your installation directory is still writable. It's a good idea to chmod it so that it is not writable for security reasons."

I have no idea what this means, or how to do this.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Thank you so much!

means your file are 777 (writable) so make it 444 (not writable) do it atlist to your settings.php

Sorry, but as I said, I am an EXTREME newbie.
So, I should make this file 444, where do I do this?
I dont know where to even find this file to be able to change it.

Thanks again!
