Hello,

I have installed SMF and everything is working fine, no problems so far.

I have some questions if someone could point out what I need to do to fix it.

I am using loon green theme and when I go to forum Admin, Forum News, and type to news, hit save it does not show up any where on the forum. Any idea why?

How can I make a seprate avatar folder which will be only visible to mods and admins. Basically is there a way to have seprate sets of avatar for mods and admins than the ones for other users and members?

Is there any quick reply mod that I can use with loon green theme?

1, is need enabled for that theme > Admin > Current Themes Settings > News tickbox.

2, Profile > Look and Layout Preferences > Quick reply...

Ben thanks for a quick reply. I have one more question. How to display members birthday on the bottom of page where all other info is displayed like Who is online and stuff.

I did the following but still it does not show, or does it only show when there is a birthday or like few days ahead of the birthday?

Forum configuration, Edit features and options, Calendar, Show birthdays on board index.

It only shows up if there's a birthday coming up in the number of days specified by the "Max days in advance to show events on the boardindex" setting (under "Calendar" in Edit Features and Options).

I have another question is it possible to show the Forum News all the time. Like right now its only shown on the Forum index page if I go to a forum than it does not get displayed, is there any way I can make it display on every forum?

It shown all the time here, isn't it?  Are you using a custom theme?

[Unknown] I never noticed if its shown here all the time. I only see my info up on the top but not the news here on this forum. I am using loon green theme.

Sorry, you did say that, didn't you?

The Loon themes don't show the news on every page, I'm afraid... although they do show the news fader, I think, which is probably what you've enabled.

Yeah its a news fader, so you are saying loon green theme does not have the option to show the news on all pages? If thats true is it possible to modify the code to make it display on all the pages? Can I get some help on which file and what code to change if possible?

And another thing what permission do I need to pick if I want my members to be able to ONLY view/read certain forums.

For example if I have Discussion, Photo Gallery, and Entertainment as Catagory and in those catagories there are diff. forums like Discussion has [sports, drama, politics], Photo Gallery has [Perosnal, Others] and so on. How can I make it so that my users can only view/read posts in Photo Gallery [Others] and be able to post/view/read in Photo Gallery [Perosnal]?

To change permissions for boards, goto your admin panel, permissions section, goto the board that you want to have settings that are different from global, set it to local permission, then enter the board permissions and set the individual group persmissions inside it.
