Add Checkbox to Modify Boards

How do I add a checkbox to modify boards?  One like the count posts box.

Can you be a bit more specific, I'm having trouble understanding what exactly you are wanting to do.

Of course you can customize your templates, but the underlying code to add the functionality might be a lot harder.
