404 - Attachment Not Found... after db import with 5000+ attachments to new host

You are right, sorry. I just found that forum4ttt and I were having some similar problems.

I should add a followup for the benefit of others that you must upload the attachments as they appeared in the old attachments folder...i.e. download and upload with the number prefix that relates the attachment to the thread ...see pic

for example:  '2345_mypic.png'  rather than just 'mypic.png'

works perfectly now...thumbs and all

Yes you'll need to upload them exactly how they were stored on the previous host.  As extra information is added, like a hash for 'encrypted' filenames, which without that information will not be able to be accessed from the data stored in the db relating to the attachment.

1. Go to your PHPMyAdmin
2. go to "smf_settings"
3. Edited "attachmentUploadDir" to the correct dir on the NEW host.

Done.
