SMF / Joomla password hashes

hello,

we use joomla with SJSB bridge and smf.

After importing the old user data into smf the people cant log in.
It looks like different hashs are used for password encryption.

Is there a known way how to convert the old passwords to the new ones?

I am new to this and so my question: Did the password encryption change since 2.0RC1 or comes this with joomla and the bridge?

What could i do to solve this issue? Is there a way to reset all passwords in SMF so that user get send a new generated password?

okay i know now that the login data is stored twice (in joomla and smf).
so the issue is more on joomla side.
