intsalled a fresh copy of 2.0 RC1 i got all my board and posts restored. but my attchments dont work:S

When you say you installed a fresh copy what do you mean? If you deleted EVERYTHING and uploaded clean files, then you probably deleted the attachments folder.

yeh, i deleted everytinhg. including attachment folder. but i uplaoded the attachment folder (made a copy before the install) but they dont show or work

Did you have attachments folder with attachments when you ran error checks?

From maintenance menu at adminpanel click routine, and there you can see option:
Find and repair any errors

If, for example, posts or topics are missing after a server crash, this function may help finding them again.

Just checkin.
So you made a backup of database and attachmets folder, deleted everything (still wondering why) and ran installation? Then you restored database back to what it was before new installation and restored your attachments folder, and everything else was fine, except that attachments would not work?

Does all the avatars still work, even the ones that users have uploaded to server?

i never did a database restore, just linked to to the orginal one.

What happens when you click an attachment link from within a post?  What exactly doesn't work?

downloads a file but when i open it its just covered in noise. like the pictures all pink

Does this only happen for image attachments?  Had you moved your attachments, ie download and uploaded them via FTP?  If you download directly via FTP do you get the same results?  Is everyone getting this?  Have you tried an alternate browser/computer?
