Sending out username reminders

I had a board that went offline for a while and now I have imported it into SMF(MamboBridge)

I would like to send out everyone a friendly message and username reminder .. Is this possible?

Ok so I am working it out

If I send out emails using $member.name variable... Will this give the  Username or Displayed name.

People can also simply log in with their email address.

Yes but if they have forgotten their passwords.. The reminder requires the user input the username also doesnt it?

SMF's reminder functionality can take the username or the email.
