Subs language?

I am trying to add a "Games" tab to my main menu. I have everything figured out except how to add the actual text of "GAMES" to the button. For now I have it hard coded in the subs file, but I want to do it "right". I tried adding the language string to index.english and modifications.english, but it did not show up using either of those. Where should I place the language string so that the menu will see it?

index.english.php OR modifications.english.php

HOWEVER in smf 2.x language files are cached.
So after making the change, you need to empty your SMF Cache
Admin > Forum Maintenance > Routine
Empty cache.

it should then show up.

It appears to have worked. Hard to tell since it still says "Games"    ...but it still says Games, I'm guessing it worked. Thanks for the help.
