Redirect & masking problem
« on: March 09, 2009, 03:06:45 PM »
I have a domain name set up with my hosting provider. Say www.example.com, I have a site on that name - www.example.com/site. I installed the forum to www.example.com/forum.

But the forum is a separate project, so I got myself another domain at godaddy - www.forum.com
I set up forwarding and masking at godaddy. And now my forum can be accessed at www.forum.com.

The problem:

Than I open it through www.forum.com I dont get any further url development. Like on this forum for instance:

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=post;board=147.0

Mine just stays www.forum.com/ no matter what I have accessed.

If I log on to the forum using www.example.com/forum  everything is ok.

Help?

Using forwarding and masking like that basically loads another url in a frame. So the url in the address will never change.

Disable the masking part. It will redirect to the actual url then.
If you want all your urls to use forum.com instead of the example.com, then you need to configure your host to do that.
